One of the most interesting things in Honduras, are its colonial towns, many of them still retain their traditions. In them we can see Catholic churches of 400 to 600 years of construction. Ajuterique, Comayagua. Founded in 1550 in a place called Quelepa, it means in Mexican "Cerro de las Tortugas" or "Big eye at the foot of the Mountain". The municipality of Ajuterique is located in the north-western part of the city of Comayagua, 7 km from the city of La Paz and 87 km from the capital city Of the Republic Tegucigalpa. Ajuterique is a community where traditions and customs are very attached to their way of life, it emphasizes in the religious aspect since it forms a fundamental part of the spiritual life of its inhabitants. They have specials dates to celebrate: Fair in honor of the Virgen de Reyes celebrated from 4 to 7 January Fair in honor of Pentecost between the months of May or June Fair in honor of Mr. ECCEHOMO celebrated in the month of August.
